UEZ reform bill moves ahead in NJ Statehouse

TRENTON – Legislation advancing in the state Senate would allow Vineland, Millville and other economically challenged cities to keep some sales tax revenue generated in their communities, in exchange for increased state oversight.
The bill is a proposal from Sen. Jeff Van Drew, D-1, a longtime proponent of the state’s Urban Enterprise Zone program. It aims to increase accountability of municipalities that participate in the program.
