including: the operation and enhancement of the multi-modal transportation system covering highway, transit, ports, waterways, and freight; county and municipal airports, the William J. Hughes Technical Center, aeronautics and aviation; as well as local, state and federal programs impacting the Southern New Jersey region. It works with state, authority, and county planning departments in determining and promoting transportation infrastructure projects for South Jersey. Issues tend to be broad based and multi-modal in nature.
The Transportation and Aviation Committee provides a forum for companies concerned with regional transportation issues including:
- Expansion of the Atlantic City International Airport
- Highway and Bridge Investment
- Expanding South Jersey Ports and Freight Rail Capacity
- DRPA’s Transportation Investment Vision for South Jersey
- Light Rail Connecting Glassboro and Camden
- Bus Rapid Transit Along I76, I676, Route 42, and the AC Expressway
- Expansion and Connection with the Atlantic City Line
- Better use of Federal Stimulus Dollars
- Replenishment of the Transportation Trust Fund
