Unions Agree to Wage Freeze

An alliance of New Jersey construction unions along with their contractor partners have agreed to a freeze in wages and benefits by voluntarily re-opening their contracts. This move is designed to lower labor costs and kick-start construction throughout the state.
 
The alliance includes 30,000 union members and contractors affiliated with the Bricklayers, Carpenters, Dockbuilders, Ironworkers, and Laborers. The freeze represents reductions ranging from 3 - 5.2% and will carry through mid 2011.

Stout & Caldwell Engineers, Courtyard by MARRIOTT,. Rucci Development, and Dever Architects have broken ground on a new four story hotel in Westampton, NJ. The new four story property will include such amenities as an indoor swimming pool and whirlpool spa, fitness center, guest laundry, business center, meeting space, and The Bistro restaurant.

Beneficial Bank Unveils New Retail Banking Concept

Beneficial Bank opened two new, education-themed retail bank locations in Cherry Hill, NJ and donated $20,000 to support financial education in the Cherry Hill Public Schools. The two new, modern bank locations are designed to be community and learning hubs. They are located at 818 Haddonfield Road and Route 70 at Springdale Road in Cherry Hill.

"Our two new campuses in Cherry Hill are a representation of Beneficial's education philosophy and we plan for these innovative retail banks to become the blueprint for the next generation of Beneficial Banks," said Gerard Cuddy, CEO of Beneficial Bank.
DRPA/PATCO Light Rail Projects Cited by Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission AS "Regional Transportation Program of the Year"

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission honored DRPA/PATCO with its 9th annual "Regional Transportation Program of the Year" award. The award was presented at the DVRPC's Annual Celebration of Regional Excellence on May 20th. It recognized the efforts by DRPA and PATCO To develop two regional light rail services in Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. One system would enhance the connection between Center City Philadelphia with the Delaware River Waterfront while the other would provide service between Glassboro and Camden in Southern New Jersey. 
Irvin E. Richter, CEO of Hill International, Named to the New Jersey Business Hall of Fame

Hill International recently announced that Irvin E. Richter, Chairman and CEO, has been named to the New Jersey Business Hall of Fame. Richter was one of four Laureates named this year. Induction as a Laureate into the New Jersey Business Hall of Fame is a lifetime achievement award for individuals making a significant, positive impact in New Jersey.
