Bay-Atlantic
Symphony Proudly continuing its
25-year tradition of performing outstanding
classical music, the BAS offers more than 20
opportunities for music lovers, aficionados and
neophytes to personally experience the special
pleasures and immediacy of live orchestral
performances. The Bay-Atlantic Symphony was
founded as the Bridgeton Symphony in 1983 in
Bridgeton, New Jersey by its first Music Director,
Russell Meyer and a group of dedicated music
lovers. In 1993, the Symphony was named
"Orchestra in Residence" at the Stockton
Performing Arts Center at the Richard Stockton
College of New Jersey in Pomona (20 miles west of
Atlantic City). In 1995 the
orchestra launched a national search for its next
Music Director and selected Jed Gaylin in 1997 to
lead the orchestra into its next
phase.

Learn"
 The Southern New Jersey
Development Council hosted its first Lunch and
Learn at the Rutgers Waterfront Technology Park in
Camden. Hosted by the Council and its
Marketing / Membership Committee, the event was
geared toward introducing new members to the
services offered by the SNJDC as well as
introducing the Development Council to the
businesses in the technology center.
Committee Co-Chairs Dan Caldwell, Stout and
Caldwell Engineers L.L.C., and Joe Silva, Silva
Financial Services, stressed the unique
opportunity that the SNJDC provides in bringing
South Jersey's decision makers together.
Echoing those sentiments, Jim O'Brien, Executive
Director of Maryville Inc., underscored the
Council's capability for opening doors to members
to meet with their elected
officials.

Development Council President Marlene Asselta
gave a brief overview of the organization's
mission - economic development advocacy and
lobbying on behalf of the Southern 8 counties of
New Jersey. Frank Jones,
Bollinger Insurance, closed the event describing
the Council as "an organization you can become
involved with to provide your company's services
to South Jersey's business

VP Receives Distinguished Service
Award Michael M. Rossi III, former
president and owner of Allied Insurance Services
and current Senior Vice President of Bollinger
Insurance has been selected to receive Hendricks
House's 2009 Distinguished Service
Award. Rossi chairs numerous health
organizations including South Jersey Hospital
Board of Directors, South Jersey Healthcare
Community Services, and Community Health Care,

CRDA Approves $20 Million for
Transportation Corridor Improvement
The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority
Board approved up to $20 million in funds for the
South Inlet Transportation Project, an over $91
million plan which will create a landscaped
boulevard from Route 30 and Delaware Ave along
Connecticut Ave. The project is intended to
create an entrance way for existing casino
properties, existing housing development and the
Revel project. "CRDA's commitment to this
project sends a resounding message to private
sector investors that the public sector is
committed to building the infrastructure necessary
to continue to develop Atlantic City into a
premier destination resort," said Thomas D.
Carver, Esq. Executive Director of the Casino
Reinvestment Development Authority. CRDA
worked closely with the New Jersey Department of
Transportation, the South Jersey Transportation
Authority and Revel to come up with a plan that
allows this important transportation
infrastructure project to move
forward.
Hill Announces New Americas Project
Management Group President Thomas J.
Spearing, III was named President of Hill
International Incorporated's Project Management
Group (Americas). Spearing, who has 25 years
of operational and business development experience
in architecture, engineering and construction
management, previously distinguished himself as
Hill's Senior VP and Chief Strategy Officer.
Now he will be responsible for managing all the
company's projects throughout the United
States. "Tom's breadth of experience
in operations, business development and strategic
planning is a unique skill set that few in our
industry possess," said David L. Richter, Hill's
President and Chief Operating Officer. "That
multi-faceted skill set has fully prepared him for
this challenging role, and will be key to Hill's
continued growth in both existing and future
markets." Spearing will continue to be based
in Hill's headquarters in Marlton. Hill
International, with 2,400 employees in 80 offices
worldwide, provides program management, project
management, construction management and
construction claims and consulting
services.

At the Delaware River
Port Authority Office in Camden, CEO John
Matheussen delivered a presentation outlining each
of the mass transit options on the table for South
Jersey and the Philadelphia Metro Area. Five
separate track routes are being discussed for
South Jersey spanning Gloucester and Camden
Counties, three options are active for
Philadelphia, greatly expanding rail in the
city. Also under serious consideration is a
rapid transit bus system for commuters as well as
improvements to the existing PATCO
