To avoid The Garden State’s steady loss of its gardens, green pastures and natural beauty, the need for preservation of what we now have left becomes all the more pressing.
Our state includes some of the most beautiful beaches, rivers and streams, foothills and unique pinelands in the country, letting them disappear is not only a shame it is irresponsible. Preserving what nature New Jersey has is a tenant of this Council.
In the past, with our expert membership, unique professional network and strong voice in Trenton, the SNJDC has accomplished much. Listed below are just a few projects we were, and still are, proud to support:
- June 25, 2009 SNJDC sent the Governor our position on Senate Bill 1858 legislation that would allocate $400 million to open space preservation. The bill was approved as a ballot measure. SNJDC followed up its support for the passing of this bill with both an editorial in the Chronicle and mentions in several legislative dispatches.
