SNJDC's Transportation & Aviation Committee Meeting


The Southern New Jersey Development Council’s Transportation & Aviation Committee convened at The Thunder Room inside the National Aerospace Research & Technology Park headquarters for an engaging discussion on “Advanced Air Mobility in South Jersey.


The meeting was called to order by Paul Hinton, Business Development Manager at TN Ward Company Builders, with committee co-chairs Sam Mody, Keller Engineers and Kyle Rutherford STV Inc. leading the session.


Attendees were welcomed by Senator Vince Polistina of New Jersey’s 2nd Legislative District, who emphasized the importance of continued investment in aviation infrastructure and the region’s growing role in supporting innovation within the aerospace sector.


The featured panel included key regional leaders shaping the future of air mobility:


  • Howard Kyle, President, National Aerospace Research & Technology Park

  • Lauren Moore, President, Atlantic County Economic Alliance

  • Tim Kroll, Director, Atlantic City International Airport, South Jersey Transportation Authority


Panelists shared updates on groundbreaking initiatives such as the Airfield Autonomy Initiative, the Dual-Use Airspace Test & Evaluation Corridor, and the Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing Integration Pilot Program, projects that position South Jersey as a hub for aerospace innovation, research, and development.


Discussions also highlighted ongoing collaboration among NARTP, ACEA, and ACY to attract advanced aerospace R&D, support business growth, and strengthen the region’s economic competitiveness through cutting-edge technology and infrastructure development.


The session concluded with an audience Q&A, offering members and stakeholders the opportunity to explore how these advancements in aviation could create new opportunities for businesses, workforce development, and regional connectivity.
